Miyabi Grand
Opening
|
|
On 12th February 2002, a new concept of dining was introduced to the City of Lancaster. Formerly known to locals as the Peacock Chinese Restaurant the new owners of Miyabi Japanese Restaurant took the plunge and decided to introduce a new blend of Japanese style cuisine to the city. Being the first to offer Japanese cuisine in Lancaster and after trading for just over a year, Miyabi has already acquired a healthy regular customer base not only locally, but has also attracted diners from nearby surrounding villages and towns, including Cumbria, Preston and Blackpool. The restaurant boasts an excellent atmosphere along with a mixed combination of soft Oriental music played in the background. |

The restaurant itself is split into two sections. Teppanyaki tables (hot plate cookers) are fitted towards the rear of the restaurant where customers are invited to enjoy their meal while it is being freshly prepared and cooked in front of them by Miyabi's fully trained chefs. On most occasions the chefs will also provide entertainment to the customers whilst preparing the meal, such as juggling with eggs or salt and pepper pots. All dishes are cooked in front of the customer from fresh raw ingredients, and customers are encouraged to request any special cooking requirements to the chef who is preparing their meal. Miyabi's chefs will be more than happy to prepare foods to the highest satisfaction required from the customer. |

A more traditional seating area is arranged towards the front of the restaurant
for customers who opt for non teppanyaki options such as sushi and other light snacks. This section
of the restaurant also serves as a seating area for customers to enjoy
a dessert or beverage after dining on the Teppanyaki table. |

Sushi
or Sashimi
|
|
It is a common misconception that eating Japanese food means eating raw fish. Although seafoods do form a part of the Japanese diet, there are also a whole host of meat and vegetable options available. Sushi and Sashimi are very popular Japanese delicacies which do entail raw fish, but also cooked meat, seafood and vegetables too.
